Operation familiarisation for flights on the Third Runway, designated as the new North Runway of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), started on 8th July 2022. At 08:24am, Hong Kong Government Flying Service fixed-wing aircraft Challenger 605 (B-LVA) was the first flight to land on the new Runway.

The newly built runway is located at the North of the original two-runway, with 3800-metre in length and built with its supporting taxiway systems. GFS also took part in the final preparation for the opening of the Third Runway and associated taxiways. Fixed wing aircraft and helicopters were deployed to assist Civil Aviation Department in conducting system tests and inspections.
