A. System Function
The air conditioning system has these functions:
- To supply filtered conditioned air, at the correct temperature and pressure, to the flight compartment and the passenger cabin (the pressurized compartment)
- To control the flow of air into and from the pressurized compartment
- To give indications and warnings of the condition of the system
B. Sub-systems (Ref. Fig. 1)
- Compression sub-systems supplies filtered bleed air from each engine to the cooling Sub-system. (Ref. 21-10-00)
- Distribution sub-systems supplies conditioned air to the pressurized compartment. (Ref. 21-20-00)
- Pressurization control sub-systems controls the flow of air from the pressurized compartment to control the cabin differential pressure. (Ref. 21-30-00)
- Cooling sub-system supplies cool air to the air conditioning system during the operation of the engines. (Ref. 21-50-00)
- Temperature control sub-systems controls the temperature of the conditioned air in the pressurized compartment. (Ref. 21-60-00)
- Moisture/Air contaminant control sub-systems removes water from the conditioned air as it leaves the cooling Sub-system. (Ref. 21-70-00)
