21-60-00  TEMPERATURE CONTROL Back

A. System Function

The temperature control system controls the temperature of the conditioned air in the flight compartment and the cabin.

B. System Components

The primary components of the system are the:
  • Two temperature selectors
  • Two temperature control switches
  • Two mode selector switches
  • Two temperature controllers
  • Two Temperature Control Valves (TCV)
  • The jet pump
  • Two bay temperature sensors
  • Two duct temperature sensors
  • The temperature indicator
  • Two over temperature switches
  • Two maximum over temperature switches
  • The temperature changeover valves
C. System Operation (Ref. Fig. 1)

The flight crew set the temperature on the AIR CONDITIONING control panel. The temperature controllers compare the input signals from the sensors and the AIR CONDITIONING control panel. The temperature controllers then control the TCV to give a conditioned air supply at the correct temperature. If an over temperature condition occurs, the over temperature switches close the TCV or the pressure Regulator Shut-off Valve (PRSOV) and the High-Pressure Shut-Off Valve (Ref. 21-10-00). The system also gives failure and waning indications.
