A. System Function
  1. The Audio Integrating System (AIS) gives the flight crew control of all the audio signals and the system interfaces to the:
    • VHF communications system (Ref. 23-11-00)
    • Dual HF System (Ref. 23-12-00)
    • Cabin Audio System (CAS) (Ref. 23-31-00)
    • Interphone System (INT) (Ref. 23-40-00)
  2. The AIS also lets the flight crew monitor audio signals from the:

    • Audio Warning System (AWS) (Ref. 31-52-00)
    • Ground-Proximity Warning System (GPWS) (Ref. 34-43-00)
    • Traffic Collision and Avoidance System (TCAS) (Ref. 34-44-00)
    • Integrated Navigation Units (Nav Units) (Ref. 34-51-00)
B. System Components

The primary components of the AIS are the:
  • Six Audio Control Panels (ACP) (Ref. Fig. 3)
  • Six Press-To-Transmit (PTT) switches (Ref. Fig. 2)
  • Thirteen headset jack sockets
  • Six ANC headset sockets
  • Six ANC headset sockets
  • Mission console speaker (Ref. Fig. 1)
  • Two flight compartment speakers (Ref. Fig. 1)
C. System Operation

The AIS send audio signals to the flight crew headphones and the flight compartment speakers from the:
  • Integrated Communications Units (Comms Unit) (Ref. 23-11-00)
  • Nav Units
  • CAS
  • GPWS
  • TCAS
