A. System Function

The standby dc power system supplies 24 V dc to keep the Attitude and the Heading Reference System (AHRS) in operation when the engines are started from the internal batteries. The system also supplies 24 V dc to the coil of some relays in the Power Distribution Units (PDU) during some power failure conditions.

B. System Components

The primary components of the system are the:
  • Emergency Power-supply Unit (EPSU) (Ref. Fig. 2)
  • Test switch (Ref. Fig. 1)
  • Test relay
  • Standby battery busbar

  • C. System Operation (Ref. Fig. 3)

    The system supplies 24 V dc to the standby battery busbar. This is through the EPSU relay and the LEFY or the RIGHT BATT switches (Ref. 24-30-00).
