A. System FunctionThe flap control system (the system) controls the operation of the flap actuation system (Ref. 27-52-00).
B. System ComponentsThe system has these primary components (Ref. Fig. 1 thru Fig. 7), the
- Two flap position transducers
- Electronic Flap-Control Unit (EFCU)
- Flap selector switch
- Flap position indicator
- Flap test switch
C. System OperationThe EFCU compares input signals from the flap selector switch and the flap position transducers. When there is a difference between the signals, the EFCU sends a signal to energize the solenoids of the hydraulic control unit. The flaps then move until the selector and position signals become the same and the extend/ retract signal stops. The system also gives warning and system fault indication.
