A. System Function
The propeller de-ice system gives control and indication of the electrical input to the propeller de-icer boots.
B. System Components(Ref. Fig. 1)
The primary components of the system are the brush block assemblies and the de-icer timers.
C. System Operation
The brush block assemblies connect the propeller slip rings (Ref. 61-10-00) with the aircraft electrical system. The de-icer timers control the cycle of the electrical output to the propeller de-icer boots. They also monitor the electrical current that the heater elements use. The caption L PROP and R PROP (on roof panel) and PROP/ENG ICE and ICE (on the central annunciator panel) (Ref/ 31-51-00) give indications of the operation of the system.
