A. System FunctionThe flight data system monitors and keeps a record of the flight data. The flight data is kept in a solid state memory in the flight data recorder. The solid state memory is of the non-volatile type.
B. System ComponentsThe primary components of the system are the:
- Flight Data Recorder (FDR) (Ref. Fig. 1)
- Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU) (Ref. Fig. 1)
- Three-axis accelerometer (Ref. Fig. 3)
- Left aileron position-potentiometer (Ref. Fig. 2)
- Left elevator position-potentiometer (Ref. Fig. 1)
- Left pitch-trim position-potentiometer (Ref. Fig. 3)
- Rudder position potentiometer. (Ref. Fig. 2)
C. System OperationThe system operates when the:
- Double-generator fail relay 1PB10 is energized
- Left or the right 115 V ac busbar is energized
- 28 V dc left essential busbar is energized.
