31-51-00  CENTRAL ANNUNCIATION SYSTEM Back

A. System Function

The central annunciation system (the system) gives an indication to the aircrew that a fault or a failure in a system has occurred. It also gives an indication of the condition of some systems.

B. System Components

The primary components of the systems are the:
  • Central Annunciator Panel (CAP) (Ref. Fig. 2)
  • Upper-dim/test control box (Ref. Fig. 2)
  • Lower-dim/test control box (Ref. Fig. 1)
  • Two amber attention-getters (Ref. Fig. 2)
  • Two red attention-getters (Ref. Fig. 2)

C. System Operation

The CAP gets a 28 V dc signal from the appropriate aircraft system. The signal causes the appropriate caption on the CAP to come on and the amber or red attention-getters, on the coaming, to flash. The audible warning also gives a sound. The system operates when the 28 V dc emergency busbar and the 28 V dc essential busbars are energized. The electrical supplies are through circuit breakers.
