31-52-00  AUDIO WARNING SYSTEM Back

A. System Function

The audio warning system (the system) gives the related audible warning when there is an input from the applicable system in the aircraft. It does this to tell persons that there is a defect or a failure of the system in the aircraft.

B. System Components

The audio warning processor is the primary component of the system.
C. System Operation

The system gives a warning when one or more of these conditions occur:
  • There is a fire in the left or the right engine nacelle
  • The aircraft is operated at more than the maximum permitted speed
  • The flaps are set to the aircraft landing position when the landing gear is not locked down
  • The aircraft speed is less than 145 knots when the landing gear is not locked down.
NOTE: The landing gear audio warnings may be inhibited by the flight crew during special operations.
