A. System Function

The avionic-overheat indication system gives an indication of an overheat defect condition of a specified avionic component. The overheat defect indication is given on:
  • The avionic maintenance panel in the right side of the nose bay (Ref. Fig. 1)
  • The maintenance panel in the left bulkhead in the flight compartment. (Ref. Fig. 2)

B. System Components

The primary components of the system are:
  • Nine Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) indicators (Ref. Fig. 3)
  • The avionic-overheat indicator-reset switch.

C. System Operation

When there are no defects, the set coil of the BITE indicator is not energized, (the BITE indicator shows black). When an overheat defect condition occurs, in a specified avionic component the:
  • Set coil of the related BITE indicator energizes and it shows yellow
  • Avionic overheat-indicator reset switch is set to the RESET position, the reset coil of the BITE indicator energizes and it shows black.
