A. System FunctionThe avionic-overheat indication system gives an indication of an overheat defect condition of a specified avionic component. The overheat defect indication is given on:
- The avionic maintenance panel in the right side of the nose bay (Ref. Fig. 1)
- The maintenance panel in the left bulkhead in the flight compartment. (Ref. Fig. 2)
B. System ComponentsThe primary components of the system are:
- Nine Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) indicators (Ref. Fig. 3)
- The avionic-overheat indicator-reset switch.
C. System OperationWhen there are no defects, the set coil of the BITE indicator is not energized, (the BITE indicator shows black).When an overheat defect condition occurs, in a specified avionic component the:
- Set coil of the related BITE indicator energizes and it shows yellow
- Avionic overheat-indicator reset switch is set to the RESET position, the reset coil of the BITE indicator energizes and it shows black.
