A. System Function

The cabin lighting system gives lighting to the cabin and the gallery. The system also controls the attendant call lights, the no-smoking signs and the fasten seat-belt signs.

B. System Components

The primary components of the system are the:

• Ballast units
• Passenger Service Units (PSU) (Ref. Fig 1)
• Fluorescent lights (Ref. Fig. 2)
• Vestibule lights (Ref. Fig. 3)
• Return-to-seat indicator (Ref. Fig. 4)

C. System Operation

The system gives lighting to the:

• Cabin (ceiling, cove and window-wash lights)
• PSU (reading lights)
• Vestibules (forward and aft lights)

The system also supplies the lighting for the:

• Fasten seat-belt signs
• No-smoking sings
• Return-to-seat indicator
• Attendant call lights
