35-10-00  CREW OXYGEN SYSTEM Back

A. System Function

The Crew oxygen supplies breathing oxygen to the flight crew when there is:
  • A loss of cabin pressure
  • Smoke in the flight compartment

B. System Components

The primary components of the system are the:
  • Cylinder and regulator assembly
  • Crew outlets
  • Quick-disconnect couplings
  • Pressure relief indicator
  • Quick-donning masks
  • Mask stowage cups
  • Manual selector valve

C. System Operation (Ref. Fig. 1)

During flight, oxygen is supplied from the cylinder tot the demand regulators in the quick-donning masks. When an emergency occur, the flight crew remove the masks from the stowage and put them on. The demand regulator in the mask supplies oxygen to the user when required.
When the manual selector valve is set to ON, the system also supplies oxygen to the cabin oxygen system.
