The nacelles are the structure around the engine. Each nacelle gives support to the related engine and attaches the engine to the wing. Each nacelle structure makes an aerodynamic fairing around the engine and divides the area into the fire zones (Ref. 26-11-00). The lower part of the nacelle is the structure of the main landing-gear bay. Each nacelle has these primary assemblies:

  • The inner and outer diaphragms
  • The firewalls
  • The frames
  • The engine support rods
