The primary function of the power control system is to give the flight crew control of the engine power and speed.

The primary components of the system are the:
Two condition lever assemblies
Two power level assemblies
Two micro-switch and cam box assemblies
Cable and pulley system
Flight-idle baulk solenoid
Flexible control cables
System Operation
The movement of the condition and power levers (in the flight compartment), moves control rods, cables and pulleys to operate levers on the engine Fuel control Unit (FCU). The movement of the levers is also transmitted (through links) to a micro-switch and cam box assembly.
