76-20-00  EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN SYSTEM Back

  1. System Function

  2. The primary function of the emergency shutdown system is to stop the engines in an emergency.

  3. System Components (Ref. Fig.1)

  4. The primary components of the system are the:
    • Condition levers
    • Latch release push-buttons
    • Micro-switches

  5. System Operation

  6. The latch release push-buttons and movement of the condition levers operate the system. Each latch release push-button lifts a lever arm to let the relevant condition lever move fully aft. This rearward movement of the condition lever is also transmitted to the micro-switch and cam box assembly. The system uses the condition lever cable-system to operate levers on the engine Fuel Control Unit (FCU) and the propeller governor.
