77-40-00  INTEGRATED ENGINE-INSTRUMENT SYSTEM Back

  1. System Function

  2. The Integrated Engine- Instrument System (IEIS):
    • Controls the automatic functions of the engine power and propeller control systems
    • Gives indications of engine performance
    • Gives indications of Fuel Flow (FF), Fuel Used (FU) and fuel quantity
    • Monitors the engine performance and makes a record of the engine data

  3. System Components

  4. The primary components of the system are the:
    • Integrated Electronic-Control (IEC) computer and personality Module (PM)
    • Engine Instrument Panel (EIP)
    • Delta- P control unit
    • Integrated engine-control switches
    • Torque and Temperature-Limiting (TTL) switches
    • Automatic Power- Reserve (APR) switches

  5. System Operation

  6. The IEC receives signals from the engine and aircraft sensors. The IEC logic circuits use this data to control the automatic functions. The EIP gets signals from the IEC, engine and fuel system sensors. It uses these signals to give the engine performance and the fuel system indications.
