  1. System Function

  2. The video cassette recorder (VCR) system (the system) permits the recording of forward looking infrared (FLIR) system images and search radar (radar) images. Playback of the images can be displayed on Line B of the FLIR display on the mission console. The images may also be transmitted to a ground station by the video downlink system. Operator audio commentary can also be recorded on the VCR from the audio control panel. Playback of the audio track can be transmitted to a ground station by the video downlink system.

    • Video cassette recorders
    • Video converter
    • 28V dc to 240V ac inverter
    • Co-axial switches
    • Switch/ annunciator
    • Video distribution amplifiers
    • Three-position control switch
    • Audio amplifier
    • Audio change-over relay
    • Change-over toggle switch

  5. System Operation

  6. The system has three recording modes:
    • Manual (MAN) mode
    • Automatic FLIR (AUTO FLIR) mode
    • Automatic radar (AUTO RDR) mode
